Union reps are hugely influential in negotiating how much training workers receive. Union learning reps (ULRs) and union reps have the confidence of their colleagues, the recognition of employers and the support of unions.
Learning can also play an important part in strengthening union organisation and increasing membership. And that is why unions are putting learning and skills high on the agenda.
Because of the TUC’s commitment to learning and skills, the TUC set up unionlearn in 2006 to help support unions to deliver and promote workplace learning.
Union reps can also find resources and tools on the unionlearn website to support learners to progress and get on at work.
