Umbrella companies: Why agencies and employers should be banned from using them
The use of umbrella companies appears to have nothing to do with supporting workers, and more to do with parts of the labour supply chain taking an additional cut out of payroll funds. Employment agencies should be required to pay and employ the staff they place with end clients. For these reasons the TUC believe that a complete ban on the use of umbrella companies is the only way to prevent the exploitation that workers face.
