Overview

Do you want to learn how to have organising conversations that recruit others to join a union and then put this skill in to practice to support active union recruitment campaigns?

Join a day of practical, in person training on having powerful organising conversations in preparation for supporting live union organising campaigns in our region.

You'll learn key organising techniques, practise them through role play, and then put them into practice through regional Young Workers actions supporting specific live union recruitment campaigns, starting with a Unite campaign on the Canary Wharf estate, supporting outsourced cleaning and security workers to build union membership and workplace power.

With a clear campaign target and support from experienced union organisers, you'll help start meaningful conversations with workers and contribute to a real organising drive.

It's a chance to gain hands-on campaign experience and practical skills you can take back to strengthen your union presence and organise more effectively in your own workplace. And if you've ever considered becoming an organiser, it offers a useful introduction to the skills and experience involved.

The first patrols will be 11am - 2.30pm on Friday 13 and Saturday 14 November in Canary Wharf, London. Further dates and locations to be confirmed.

The training is open only to young workers who are members of TUC affiliated unions and based in London, the East or South East of England.
