We need your help to make some noise.
Live music is a huge part of the North of England's cultural heritage.
But after years of government underfunding and neglect, it's harder than ever for musicians to make a living.
Now, Northern Ballet are being forced to consider getting rid of their live orchestra and replacing their musicians with recorded music.
The Musicians' Union (MU), supported by the TUC, are fighting back and campaigning for Arts Council to fund live music properly.
TUC General Secretary Paul Nowak is joining Musicians' Union General Secretary Naomi Pohl for a demonstration outside Theatre Royal, 100 Grey St, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 6BR next Friday, 10th November 2023 at 6.30pm in support of live music, and all working musicians.
There will also be a briefing held beforehand at 5.30pm at the TUC Northern office, Unite Building, John Dobson St, NE1 8TW - buffet food will be provided.
We won't save live music in the North of England without your help. Sign up to join the demonstration now.
We want everyone attending TUC events to have a safe and enjoyable experience. If you require any adjustments or assistance to participate at this event, please let us know.
