The Future of Health, Safety and Well-Being at Work

Issue date

Z

SERTUC has the highest possible regard for the work that trade union health and safety reps do in the workplace, improving worker’s lives at work, preventing accidents and preventing deaths in the workplace. SERTUC organised a briefing, 5 February 2016, that was attended by 150 trade union health and safety reps from at least 22 unions, who are actively protecting workers in workplaces across an immense range of industries and sectors.

The event was forward looking, examining the threats posed to health and safety by the continued budget cuts to the HSE, the changes in the statutory environment and the possibility of the attack on facility time, in the Trade Union Bill, to be applied to trade union health and safety reps. And – what we can do about it by effective organising and campaigning.
