WGGB
The Writers' Guild of Great Britain (WGGB) represents writers in TV, film, theatre, audio, books, poetry, animation, comedy and videogames.
We represent professional writers and we also have a special (discounted) membership tier for emerging/aspiring writers and students. We lobby and campaign on behalf of writers, to ensure their voices are heard in a rapidly changing digital landscape.

We have national agreements (covering pay and conditions) with major industry bodies including the BBC, ITV, Netflix and Pact; National Theatre, Royal Court and Royal Shakespeare Company.
- Full membership: £218 for the first year, then earning-based subscription bands for subsequent years
- Candidate membership: £119 per annum
- Student membership: £33 per annum
- Affiliate membership (eg for writers' agents or for Higher Education professionals in creative writing departments £330 per annum
- Subs can be paid by a one-off payment or in installments by Direct Debit, apart from student membership, which is payable in a one-off payment only
