Together for education. With approximately 500,000 members, the National Education Union (NEU) is the largest education union in Europe, representing teachers, lecturers, support staff, and school leaders in maintained and independent schools and colleges across the UK.

Schools (Primary and Secondary), Colleges, Sixth Form Colleges, Nursery Schools, Supply Teaching

Traineees and student teachers can join for free. NEU membership costs £1 for Early Career Teachers and Newly Qualified Teachers (Wales) in the first year after qualifying and there’s a discounted rate of membership following that.

• Leadership members pay £27.70 a month (over 10 monthly payments)
• Standard members pay £24.14 a month (over 10 monthly payments)
• Support members pay £12.50 a month (over 10 monthly payments)

All the above rates are for full-time workers; discounted rates are available for part-time workers.

Our network of workplace reps is at the heart of what we do as a union. The NEU has reps in schools and colleges across the country, representing you, offering advice and support, and standing up for members like you.
