Interns just like other employees deserve fair treatment, respect, access to training and a safe place to work.

Good work experience can be a real benefit to people starting out in their careers.  Many employers treat interns fairly, but some employers provide no real training or use internship as cheap labour.

Interns are often afraid to enforce their rights as they fear that they will not getting a good reference. Union reps have an important role in supporting interns and negotiating with employers to improve pay, terms and conditions, ensure fair and equal treatment for interns.
