ACT NOW! Protest at PM's strangling threat against Swazi union leader

Issue date

In an astonishing outburst, the Prime Minister of Swaziland, Africa's last feudal dictatorship, has threatened the General Secretary of Swaziland's trade union movement, Vincent Ncongonwe, currently attending a civil society meeting in Washington DC, with strangulation, in retaliation for the trade union movement's support for the decision of the US government to suspend benefits for Swaziland due to its appalling human rights record! TUC General Secretary Frances O'Grady, has written to Swaziland's High Commissioner to London and the Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond in protest, and you can add your voice through LabourStart at http:/www.labourstartcampaigns.net/show_campaign.cgi?c=2427
