Responding to the latest data published today (Friday) by pay analysts XpertHR on pay settlements for the 12 months to the end of August 2014, TUC General Secretary Frances O’Grady said:

“Falling pay settlements suggest the future remains bleak for earnings. Workers have yet to see a real recovery in their pay packets and are suffering the longest slump in living standards since records began.

“If we want the economy to keep growing, workers’ pay must grow too so that Britain’s businesses have the customers they need.

“The TUC is holding a national march and rally in London on 18 October – Britain Needs a Pay Rise – to call for jobs with living wages and a fair share in the economic recovery for all workers.”
