About this Role

About this Role

UNISON Greater London Care Branch is seeking a committed and skilled case worker to support our members across Greater London. You will be employed by the Greater London Care branch of UNISON. This is an opportunity to make a real difference to members' lives ensuring they receive high-quality advice, representation and advocacy when they need it most.

The successful candidate will provide front line support to UNISON members of the Greater London Care branch, dealing with workplace issues, and work closely with Branch Officers and regional UNISON Colleagues to deliver timely, professional, and confidential advice and representation. Members of the Branch work in social care, a sector with a high proportion of low-paid migrant workers and unfortunately lots of unscrupulous employers.

This position is 35 hours per week and is a fixed term position for 12 months, with the potential for the post to be extended. The role will be home-based, with some travel to workplaces for the purpose of representing UNISON members.

We are looking for someone passionate about workers’ rights, confident in handling sensitive issues, with the ability to represent members effectively in formal meetings. The role is ideal for someone with experience in case management, employee relations, advocacy, migrant worker rights advocacy or trade union support.

If you believe in fairness, equality and supporting workers to have a voice, we would love to hear from you.
