We are looking for a Data Administrator to collect, manage and input data into our database of wages and conditions at different workplaces, known as Payline. This is not a simple data input role, as information comes from multiple sources with differing levels of accuracy and completeness. The job involves collecting, interpreting and summarising complex information, as well as the ability to judge the most accurate way to upload this information into our bespoke database. Collecting the data requires scanning various web sources for evidence of new pay deals as well as regular communication with trade union representatives and officers.
The job would suit someone with a combination of numerical, analytical and communication skills as well as the attention to detail required to input data with a high degree of consistency, accuracy and speed. It is a permanent post that would allow the successful candidate to fully participate in, and contribute ideas towards, our future plans to re-develop the database, to streamline processes and improve it as a resource for our end users who access the data via the web. The appointee will develop expertise in unions, collective bargaining and pay and conditions while providing information to unions who are negotiating for better deals.
