The TUC / LO Norwegian exchange is back for 2024!

Are you a young worker looking to grow your campaigning, organising and recruitment skills? Or interested in working alongside other young members? 

Since 2017, TUC Yorkshire and Humber has linked up with the LO-Norway (the Norwegian TUC) as part of series of exchange and learning opportunities between our two movements. This year we are excited to expand the exchange to Wales, the South West and the Northern region. 

As in the last few years, this year the exchange will focus on the LO-Norway Summer Patrol project.

Every summer for over thirty years, LO-Norway has sent young trade union activists into workplaces where young people are likely to be working in worse conditions because there are no collective agreements in place. 
 
The Summer Patrol acts as a positive first introduction to trade unions for many young workers, as well as a data collection exercise in order to build up an understanding of working experiences.

The TUC / LO Norwegian exchange offers young members from the UK the opportunity to travel to Norway to take part in the summer patrol and see how it all works. You'll then come back to the UK and play a lead role in delivering a patrol in your region.
