Black trade unionists: the essentials is a practical, welcoming training day organised by TUC South West and designed to equip Black activists, members and reps with the core skills to step forward, speak up and take action in their workplaces. 

Whether you’re brand new to union organising or looking for a refresher, this online session builds confidence, strengthens knowledge and connects you with other Black trade unionists. 

Throughout the day, participants will explore and learn about the essential skills and knowledge reps’ must have to effect positive change in their workplaces and branches, as well as understand how strong unions can win change. You will also get the opportunity share your lived experiences as Black members and reps in a supportive, empowering space. 

This is a chance to grow your voice and be part of a growing network of Black trade unionists shaping fairer workplaces.

TUC South West have created this online training day as part of a wider effort to support more Black trade union members to take up roles in their workplace, branches and unions.
