The 148th annual TUC Congress 2016 was held in Brighton, 11-14 September.
This is a critical time for Britain’s trade unions. Jobs, services, union organisation and even the democratic rights of our members are under threat, while the unbalanced recovery is repeating the mistakes of the past. The task we face is to build our strength in workplaces and reach out to new members and new allies in resisting the government’s worst proposals.
It is against this backdrop that the trade union movement came together in Brighton in September, to debate, discuss and decide how we can take action and organise to defend the people we represent and set out a vision for a better way.
