This year, TUC South West have developed a unique training opportunity for a group 15 trade union members (whether activists, reps or officers), to participate in our Aspiring Leaders Programme.

The course will bring union-sponsored participants together to learn about and develop skills that will help them to lead on a project of their choosing that will bring positive changes to the world of work. From digital skills, project managing to communicating across various platforms, participants will have the chance to build their own voice in an issue affecting workers in modern Britain, as well as raise their profile within the trade union movement.

About the course

The course will be spread across July – November 2019.

Classroom dates

Female writing on whiteboard

  • Tolpuddle Martyrs Festival (19-21st July)
  • Thursday 15th August  (Taunton/Bristol tbc)

The itinerary is being coordinated with the German union Ver.di who represent over 2 million workers in thousands of workplaces across the country.  The itinerary will support the Leaders to build international solidarity, but also learn and understand alternative models of trade unionism, engagement and organising methods as well as make comparisons with employment laws that will add much greater depth to the learning Programme.
