Major Race At Work Survey

Business in the Community is conducting the largest ever workplace survey of race at work in the UK. They want to hear from 10,000 working ethnic minority people and understand their experience of the UK’s workplaces.

The survey started on Monday 27 July 2015 will run for 7 weeks until Sunday 13 September 2015 at www.raceatwork.org.uk.

In the UK today, ethnic minorities are under-represented at every level of work. 14% of our population is from an ethnic minority background, but only 1 in 16 top management positions are held by an ethnic minority person. Business in the Community want to understand better why this is:

• What are ethnic minorities’ experiences of recruitment, retention and progression
• Is racial bias present in UK workplaces?
• Where are the role models?
• Are leadership opportunities equally available?
• Are workplace cultures fit for purpose?

This survey will help drive change and ensure workplaces and the economy is maximising all of the diverse talent in the UK.

Who can respond?
Business in the Community keen to understand the issues around under-representation of ethnic minorities in the workplace and so want ethnic minority and white employees aged 16-64+ and currently in employment in the UK (England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland) to participate in this Race at Work Survey. The survey is confidential to complete.
