Commenting on the latest inflation figures published today (Tuesday), which show that Consumer Price Index (CPI) inflation has risen slightly to 0.3 %, while core inflation has fallen from 1.4% to 1.2 %, TUC General Secretary Frances O’Grady said:

“Continuing low inflation is a sign that the economy is not operating at full strength.

“Continuing low inflation is a sign that the economy is not operating at full strength. With the global economy slowing down, the government must do more to support stronger growth. We need investment in skills, infrastructure and public services to promote growth for the long-term.”
