Our Just Transition Network celebrates working-class climate action and supports workers to shape the net zero transition throughout the North East, Yorkshire, and the Humber. It’s a TUC-convened open forum for all workplace green reps, other trade unionists, and allies to learn from each other, build campaigns, debate solutions, meet like-minded comrades, and work towards a just and fair transition in our region
Formed in 2023 by the regional TUC, it's currently being remade as a member-led network of networks, ensuring that trade unionists are tied into all climate action in the region and that the climate movement cannot forget about the importance of workers in their fight
Since inception, most meetings have been recorded and can be watched back on our YouTube channel

Our 2024-25 Leveraging Green series called on all reps and organisers to participate in interactive, expert-led online workshops and gain the vital and timely tools to support and empower members during climate change and the race to net zero
And the majority of these sessions are now available to watch online. They make great top-up training for seasoned union reps, and vital introductory training for new green reps
2025-26 has been designated a Year of Trade Union Climate Action by the TUC and many individual unions. It's our opportunity to show a workers' version of climate action and make a strong social justice argument for both urgent action to tackle and adapt to climate change and for a just transition that empowers working-class communities during net zero
The TUC has launched a Climate Action Hub, providing resources, case studies, and information to help you win in your places, and a national calendar of trade union climate events to help you advertise your events to a larger audience
