At the TUC we respect everyone’s right to privacy, and value the trust you place in us by sharing your data with us.  We are committed to:

  • collecting and using your data in a way that you would reasonably expect, in line with relevant data protection / privacy legislation
  • providing you with clear and transparent information about how we use your personal data, what we use it for and what your rights are in relation to this
  • only using your data for the purposes described in this document.

The personal data that you supply with your enquiry/complaint may be retained by us for the purposes of processing your enquiry/ complaint, and for statistical and audit purposes and will be stored in accordance with our standard procedures.

Collect annonymised monitoring information if you attend an event or college delivered course

We collect monitoring information so we can see who is using our services. We want to provide educational resources that meet the needs of all groups.

We are required to collect personal information for government funding purposes. Our college providers use this information to access financial support for your course. Where a freelance tutor is delivering the course, learner information is passed to them for course planning purposes.

Credly is a digital credential platform that allows the TUC to recognise skills and knowledge gained. 


Elucidat is an e-learning content authoring cloud based tool. If you access a piece of e-learning created in Elucidat, your name and email address will be logged with Elucidat. 

Learning Pool

Learning Pool provide the TUC with Learning Locker and Stream. Learning Locker is a learning record store. It helps the TUC to analyse how our learning is used so that we can better plan future provision and content. Stream is our Learning Experience Platform. It is used to deliver our e-learning.


Mailchimp is used for e-marketing and promotion. 


Crowdcast is used for webinars. If you take part in a live webinar, your name and email address will be logged with Crowdcast. 


We embed videos from our official YouTube channel. This may set cookies on your computer.


Layershift provide hosting for the TUC Education app.
