At the TUC we respect everyone’s right to privacy, and value the trust you place in us by sharing your data with us.  We are committed to:

  • collecting and using your data in a way that you would reasonably expect, in line with relevant data protection / privacy legislation
  • providing you with clear and transparent information about how we use your personal data, what we use it for and what your rights are in relation to this

YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS

You have a number of rights (subject to a few legal exemptions) relating to your personal data. You have the right to:

The personal data that you supply with your enquiry/complaint may be retained by us for the purposes of processing your enquiry/ complaint, and for statistical and audit purposes and will be stored in accordance with our standard procedures.

Collect annonymised monitoring information if you attend an event or college delivered course

We collect monitoring information so we can see who is using our services. We want to provide educational resources that meet the needs of all groups.

Collect personal information when you apply for a tutor delivered course - see annex for a list of fields

We are required to collect personal information for government funding purposes. Our college providers use this information to access financial support for your course. Where a freelance tutor is delivering the course, learner information is passed to them for course planning purposes.

We collect course interaction and participation information so that is allows you and course tutors to monitor course progress.

We collect feedback information to find out how you like to learn, what topics you find valuable and interesting and what we could improve about our services. We can then ensure future learning is designed better to meet your needs. We use anonymised feedback in our marketing and promotional materials.

None of these processes transfer any data outside of the EU with the exception of Mailchimp (email marketing service) which houses data in the USA.
