At the TUC we respect everyone’s right to privacy, and value the trust you place in us by sharing your data with us. We are committed to:

The Trades Union Congress (TUC) is the ‘controller’ of the data collected about you i.e. we are responsible for deciding how we collect and manage your personal data. You have a number of rights (subject to a few legal exemptions) relating to your personal data. You have the right to:

The personal data that you supply with your enquiry/complaint may be retained by us for the purposes of processing your enquiry/ complaint, and for statistical and audit purposes and will be stored in accordance with our standard procedures.

We collect personal information from visitors to this web site through the use of online forms, your participation in courses and use of resources, and every time you email us your details.

Our web logs collect additional information automatically about your visit to our web site, such as time of visit, pages read and your IP address.

Collect annonymised monitoring information if you attend an event or college delivered course	We collect monitoring information so we can see who is using our services. We want to provide educational resources that meet the needs of all groups.	Legitimate interest	One year
Collect personal information when you apply for a tutor delivered course - see annex for a list of fields	We are required to collect personal information for government funding purposes. Our college providers use this information to access financial support for your course. Where a freelance tutor is delivering the course, learner information is passed to them for course planning purposes. None of these processes transfer any data outside of the EU with the exception of Mailchimp (email marketing service) which houses data in the USA.
