Virtual art exhibition - Roots, Culture, Identity 2023

The Roots, Culture, Identity art exhibition #TUCRootsCultureIdentity23, marks its ten-year anniversary with the first in person exhibition since the pandemic, accompanied by this online virtual exhibition.

The exhibition also marks the 30th anniversary of the murder of Stephen Lawrence, in whose memory the exhibition was established and the 75th anniversary of the arrival at Tilbury Docks of the Empire Windrush, bring Caribbean migrants to the UK.

This year, the theme is Windrush 75 and the art in the exhibition reflects on the experiences, achievements and contributions of the Windrush Generation and their descendants in the UK, including the Windrush Scandal.

This year the Windrush 75 exhibition at the TUC is curated by Zita Holbourne assisted by co-curator Antonietta Torsiello.

The exhibition opening reception will take place on the evening of Friday 26th of May to coincide with the opening of TUC Black Workers Conference 2023.
