Bev Laidlaw is the President of the Public and Commercial Services (PCS) Union, having been elected to the role in 2026 after previously serving as PCS Deputy President.
A long-standing trade union activist and lay representative, Bev has dedicated her career to supporting and representing members in the workplace. She has campaigned for fair pay, better terms and conditions, equality and workplace justice across the civil service and wider public sector.
As PCS President, Bev works to ensure members' voices are heard and supports the union's campaigns to protect jobs, defend public services and strengthen workers' rights. She is committed to securing a better future for working people through collective action and national bargaining.
A dedicated supporter of the wider trade union movement, Bev campaigns for greater equality, social justice and stronger rights for all workers, including ensuring that new technologies and artificial intelligence are introduced in ways that benefit workers and protect jobs.
