Responding to the reopening of the hospitality sector tomorrow, (Saturday), TUC general secretary Frances O’Grady said: “As hospitality workers across England return to work this weekend, their safety must be the priority.

“All employers must make sure that they are supplying staff with adequate PPE, enforcing social distancing, and carrying out and publishing risk assessments in consultation with unions and their workforces.

“Businesses who do not ensure that they are operating safely will be putting both their workers and the wider community at risk.

“It is in the national interest to get this right. Rogue employers who cut corners risk undoing all of the progress that has been made, by triggering another spike in infections.”
