Time for people to have the final say on Brexit, says TUC

Commenting on parliament’s rejection of the Withdrawal Bill, TUC General Secretary Frances O’Grady said:

“This crushing defeat shows that Theresa May is out of options. It’s time to give the people the final say, whether through a general election or popular vote.

“Working people need a government that’s fit to govern, and for politicians to put jobs and rights first.

“And as a first step, the prime minister must immediately secure an extension of Article 50.”
