With inflation stable government must get on with ending austerity, says TUC

Commenting on new inflation figures published today (Wednesday) by the Office for National Statistics, which show CPI inflation falling to 2.0%, TUC General Secretary Frances O’Grady said:

“With inflation stable, the government must do more to get wages rising faster and rebuild public services.

“The change in Conservative leadership must not be used as an excuse to delay ending austerity. We need a spending review that will give our schools, hospitals and community services the funds they urgently need.”
