Commenting on today’s (Wednesday) inflation figures, which show CPI falling back to 2.0%, but expected by the Bank of England to rise to around 4% in the months ahead, TUC General Secretary Frances O’Grady said:
“The Chancellor’s decision to hold down pay in the public sector means prices are rising faster than wages for lots of our key workers.
“That’s no way to thank them for keeping the country going through the pandemic. He should put fair pay for key workers at the heart of his recovery plan.”
