About this Role

Our public services are under major threat. Our members are working under extreme pressure and UNISON is actively campaigning for services and jobs. We are seeking a BSOF Local Organiser to recruit, organise and work on a range of time-defined projects to support our campaign. The project will focus on recruiting, retaining and organising members who work in the Local Government sector across Scotland.  What we’re looking for:

The successful candidates will bring:

  • Strong skills in one-to-one communication, recruitment and organising
  • Experience in campaigning and motivating others
  • The ability to inspire confidence and build relationships across diverse workplaces
  • An understanding of trade unionism and UNISON’s values
  • Previous experience as a recruiter, organiser, or campaigner (desirable but not essential)

Location: R7/BSOF14T: You will be based at any of our regional offices

Travel: You will be based at any of our regional offices but you will be expected to travel across Scotland.

The successful candidate will need to be flexible with their working hours. Reaching members can be challenging during “office hours” so the successful candidate may be required to work in the evening, early mornings and occasionally at weekends.
