About this Role

Local Organisers play an essential role in ensuring the success of our members’ campaigns. The role is very dynamic and would be suited to candidates who are keen to be on the ground, in workplaces, speaking directly to workers to motivate them to join their trade union and take collective action.

Your main responsibilities will include going into workplaces, having one on one conversations with workers and recruiting them, encouraging their participation, building their confidence and empowering them.

To undertake this role you will need to be able to demonstrate experience and knowledge of the Trade Union and Labour movement and UNISON in the North West Region in particular. Previous experience as a recruiter, organiser and campaigner within a TU branch or within a similar organisation would also be desirable.

The successful candidate will need to be flexible with their working hours and have the ability to travel in a timely manner across the region and to the Regional Centre (Manchester) and also possibly to London for meetings/training as required.
