Over the last 15 years, working conditions for many have plummeted. Too many people are trapped in insecure work. Many are unable to exercise employment rights that would give them greater job and pay security. Meanwhile policymakers have lacked the will to act.
Trade unions have made the case in workplaces and the political arena for a better deal for working people. We have shown how insecure employment and in-work poverty harms workers and their families. Impactful legislative change is well overdue.
