With your help free trade unions can be rebuilt in Iraq
Iraq’s trade unions need your money to help rebuild their movement after many years of suppression under Saddam Hussein and the upheavals caused by the war. TUC Aid has launched a special Iraq Appeal, so that you, and your union organisation, can show your solidarity in a practical way.
Your donations will provide basic needs like offices, phones, faxes and computers - sometimes even chairs and desks. You will also help pay for organisers to spread the word that unions are no longer an arm of the state. You’ll help to promote women into leadership positions. And help to train and educate their activists about collective bargaining, labour laws and recruitment.
Britain’s trade unions are asking you and your organisations to show your practical solidarity.
