The SW TUC Women's Committee acknowledges the recent UK Supreme Court ruling concerning the interpretation of "woman" and other protected characteristics under the Equality Act 2010.
In light of this ruling, the SW TUC Women's Committee unequivocally reaffirms its unwavering support and solidarity with all women. We stand steadfast in our commitment to the fundamental principles of equality and dignity for every individual.
We explicitly recognise our trans and intersex sisters as integral members of our community. We firmly believe that gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, and all other characteristics related to an individual's identity are intrinsic aspects of who they are.
The SW TUC Women's Committee is resolute in its conviction that every person deserves equal human rights, dignity, and the power to self-identify. We maintain a zero-tolerance approach to discrimination in any form and will continue to champion the rights and well-being of all individuals, ensuring that our movement remains a safe and inclusive space for everyone
