Responding to the government’s introduction of new regulations for Collective Defined Contribution (CDC) pension schemes, the TUC’s Pensions Lead Jack Jones said:

"Everyone deserves to retire in dignity. Collective defined contribution schemes will deliver bigger pensions for their members and an income for life.

"Trade unions played a vital role in getting the first CDC scheme off the ground at the Royal Mail. And enabling multi-employer schemes will allow more employers to follow this example.

"The next step is to make sure collective schemes become the norm so as many workers benefit as possible. The government's Pension Commission can play a vital role in this."
