Overview

Trade union membership is growing, but we still face big challenges.

Just 1% of trade union reps are under the age of 30, while just 1 in 10 young workers aged between 20 and 24 are in a union.

The young members that we have often feel disconnected.

Earlier this year, we sent young trade unionists into workplaces, unannounced, to speak to over 150 young people about their working conditions.

Join our webinar to hear two young trade unionists talk about the challenges that they’ve faced in getting involved in the movement, and the work that they’ve done to organise young workers in Yorkshire and the Humber.

We'll be discussing:

  • What are the big issues facing young people at work
  • Digital techniques to communicate with young workers
  • Top tips on talking to young workers for the first time about unions and their issues at work

If you're a union representative, you're entitled to paid release from work to take part in this webinar. Talk to your employer.
