Overview

What could proposed changes to workplace rights and equality protections mean for LGBT+ workers?

Join Quinn Roache, TUC Policy Lead – LGBT+ and Disabled Workers, to explore the latest polling and findings on LGBT+ workers, workplace rights and the current political debate around employment and equality protections.

The session will examine what the findings tell us about public attitudes towards the Employment Rights Act 2025 and Equality Act 2010, the likely impact of weakening or removing these protections on LGBT+ workers, and the implications of local authority decisions that reduce LGBT+ visibility, inclusion and support in public life

For union reps, the webinar will consider:

  • What the latest polling tells us about attitudes towards LGBT+ workplace rights
  • The potential impact of weakening employment and equality protections on LGBT+ workers and LGBT+ people
  • Why these protections matter for confidence, wellbeing, safety and inclusion at work
  • What changes affecting LGBT+ visibility and inclusion could mean for workers and communities
  • The role of trade unions in challenging discrimination and defending equality
  • What reps can do to support LGBT+ members and promote inclusive workplaces

Join us for an important discussion about the rights LGBT+ workers have won, the challenges ahead, and how union reps can help protect equality at work.
