Too often we discuss how to prevent sexual harassment, but still it happens. Many of us feel that when it does happen it isn't taken seriously. And many people don't bother reporting incidences of sexual harassment because they don't have confidence that it will make a difference.
Trade union reps can play an important role in changing this perception.
Join us for a one-hour session looking at the steps trade union reps can take to support workers who experience sexual harassment at work.
The session will be run by Deeba Syed, Senior Legal Officer at Rights of Women. You'll be given case studies with real life examples of workplace scenarios and we'll be discussing what are the next steps to take to tackle sexual harassment in the workplace. This will help you understand what steps you can push your employer to take in order to support those who experience workplace sexual harassment.
This event is open to workplace union reps who want to campaign to make their workplaces safer, more inclusive and better for everyone. We'll be using mentimeter to make the session interactive so please have a mobile phone available and you may want to create a Mentimeter account now.
We want everyone attending TUC events to have a safe and enjoyable experience. If you require any adjustments or assistance to participate at this event, please let us know.
