Wales TUC Young Activist Development Programme are reaching out to young workers in hospitality and retail to talk about rights at work and the benefits of joining a trade union.
Introducing Newid!: Following the success of our Norwegian Summer Patrol pilot last summer, the Young Activist Development Programme is now setting up our own version, Newid!
The session will involve trade unionists in small groups interviewing young workers in hospitality and retail about their experiences at work. The data collected from Newid! will then be used to shape our campaigning work and raise issues on behalf of young workers within our movement, and through social partnership.
Our first Newid! Session for 2024 will be on 3rd February in Swansea. There will be several sessions run throughout the day, you can either attend one, or all depending on your suitability. By signing up to this, you will also be invited to attend the following training:
- Training with HMRC on Minimum Wage Compliance
- Handling difficult conversations
- Briefing on young workers in hospitality and retail
