Overview

Sponsored by https://www.thompsons.law/

The TUC will be hosting an evening to celebrate contemporary black women trade unionists from across the movement. The event will include conversations with inspiring black female leaders from our unions and feature opportunities for networking and discussion. These remarkable women have played a crucial role in shaping the labour movement, fighting for workers' rights, and breaking down barriers. Join us as we honour their ongoing contributions and achievements.

This event will not only serve as a platform to acknowledge their achievements but also inspire future generations of Black women who are vastly underrepresented within leadership structures in unions. So, let's come together, raise our glasses, and toast to these remarkable trailblazers who continue to pave the way for equality and justice in the workplace!

Confirmed speakers:

  • Shavannah Taj, TUC
  • Jayne Bekoe, RCM
  • Diane Ebanks, PCS
  • Jennifer Moses, NASUWT
  • Chaired by: Kudsia Batool, TUC
