We organise because it helps us build strong, effective unions so we can help our members in the workplace.

Strong workplace unions have a high and active membership as well as well supported and trained workplace reps.

Union reps are the foundation of all that the trade union movement does for workers both individually and collectively.  They are also the best advocates of trade unions and therefore best placed to recruit new members and activists.

Union reps need to be an organiser in order to build trade unions and win more power and improvements in working people’s lives. Just one new member or a few faces at a meeting is a success that can be built on and start the union bandwagon rolling.

Active events and campaigns help raise awareness and encourage people to join in. This brings confidence to the branch and to union representatives, who can then go on to encourage members to generate their own issues and organise to solve them.
