Stephen Russell is International Labour Standards Lead at the TUC, where he has worked for over 30 years. He leads the TUC’s engagement with the International Labour Organisation (ILO), including leading its annual delegation to the International Labour Conference and assessing and promoting UK compliance with international labour standards. He is a member of the ILO's Committee on the Application of Standards and a deputy spokesperson for the Workers’ Group. His work also includes promoting freedom of association globally, including through his role on the board of the Ethical Trading Initiative, and coordinating trade union solidarity with cases before the ILO and ETI, and with Turkiye and Ukraine.
