The Wales TUC has set up a new network to support trade union reps who want to promote greener workplaces and sustainability. Join us for this friendly and supportive network which is open to all reps and activists, including green reps, health and safety reps, union reps, union learning reps and any other reps with an interest in the topic.

The group will meet online approximately every other month. Each meeting will feature guest speakers to explore different topics, provide an opportunity for reps to network and share good practice and include an update from the Wales TUC.

Our next meeting will take place online on Thursday 5th August from 10.30 – 12.15

The focus of this meeting will be building workplace climate campaigns in the run up to the next UN climate summit COP26, which will be held in Glasgow this November. We’ll discuss:

  • Running workplace awareness raising events and campaigns
  • What is COP26 and what is the role and priorities for unions?
  • Plans for ‘Climate and Employment Proof Our Work Day’ – the global day of action on 22nd Sept

There will be an opportunity for group discussions, networking and for discussion with the panel.

The network is co- facilitated by John James, Trade Union Studies Coordinator at Coleg Gwent and Jo Rees from the Wales TUC.

Please join us for this event and if you have any ideas for topics or speakers for future meetings, please email jrees@tuc.org.uk with your suggestions.

If you’d like more ideas and information about what unions are doing to create greener workplaces, download our new Greener Workplaces for a Just Transition toolkit. You can also visit our campaign page where you’ll find campaign videos and more information.
