Shirley Newbury is leading change in her workplace.
Shirley is an active member of Unison Cymru/Wales and chairs the Ethnic Network Group of Neath Port Talbot Council. Her commitment to diversity and inclusion is evident in her leadership role in adopting the union's Anti-Racism Charter. Shirley's advocacy for marginalized communities highlights the importance of solidarity and collective action.
Following being part of the Pilot TUC Cymru Black Activist Development Programme, Shirley has lead the move towards change in her workplace and spoke at the launch of the new TUC Cymru Anti0racism in the workplace toolkit on 2 October 2024.
