Overview

Join us at this network which brings together health and safety reps and any other trade unionists with an interest in workplace health, safety and environmental issues.

The network includes opportunities to hear from experts, learn from each other and gain valuable knowledge to enhance your role as a safety rep.

The next meeting of the network takes place online on Tuesday 24th November from 10 am - 12 noon.

At the November network we'll be discussing:

  • 'Forever chemicals' - how can we get justice for workers exposed in the past and protect workers and communities now?
  • Important updates on building safety plus EVs and fire safety
  • Wildfires - how we can we work together to protect workers and communities from future wildfire related risks like those we've seen over this last summer?

Speakers will include, Dan Ashby, one of the investigative journalists behind the recent BBC TV documentary 'Buried' and the R4 podcast series of the same name, Gareth Tovey, Executive Council Member for Wales for the Fire Brigades Union and Janet Newsham of the Hazards Campaign. We'll also have an update on TUC Cymru's health and safety campaigns and policy work plus opportunities to share what is happening in your own workplace.

Please note, this event is for elected/appointed trade union reps (health and safety reps, union reps, union learning reps, green reps and other rep roles). It is also open to current union members who are interested in finding out more about becoming trade union health and safety rep.
