"Celebrating the contribution of BAME people"

Sponsor: Shavanah Taj MS Senedd Constituency Member, Caerdydd Ffynnon Taf

Speakers:

  • Shavanah Taj MS Senedd Constituency Member, Caerdydd Ffynnon Taf
  • Laura Doel, General Secretary, TUC Cymru

The event will celebrate the contribution and achievements of BAME people within the Trade Union Movement & TUC Cymru.
Join us to hear from members of the Senedd and directly from trade union activists highlighting their journeys and development in activism both in work and the community.

As trade unionists we share values of anti-racism, equity and social justice. It is important to us that we campaign and organise to make our workplaces and community spaces fairer for us all.

During our Black History Month celebrations, we will explore the proud and powerful legacy of trade unionists in challenging racism and discrimination in the workplace, and their pivotal role in shifting societal attitudes towards Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic communities. This event will highlight the historical and ongoing contributions of trade unions in promoting racial justice, equality, and solidarity across all sectors.

Lunch will be provided.

This meeting is open to all reps, activists, officers and members in Wales.
