The Trade Unions and the Environment course is for all union reps who wish to broaden their knowledge and skills and gain tools to carry out their role more effectively. It is especially suitable for reps who may have an environmental role in the workplace, are thinking about how union representation should be organised in the workplace and would find a general awareness of environmental issues useful.

Forum for a Just Transition
This TUC Executive Committee paper outlines the role, membership and early priorities addressed by the Forum for a Just Transition. The Government established the Forum in December 2009 to “advise and provide oversight on the rapid economic and social transition to a low carbon future.”

Energy Intensive Industries: TUC Strategy 2009-10
This TUC paper outlines the challenges facing the UK's energy-intensive heavy industries - iron and steel, aluminium, cement and lime manufacture, pulp and paper making, basic inorganic chemicals, and nitrogen fertilisers - as they adapt to a low carbon future. Together these industries directly employ around 220,000 workers, in some 400 installations across the UK, accounting directly for about 0.5% of UK GDP
