The Writers' Guild of Great Britain (WGGB) represents writers in TV, film, theatre, radio, books, poetry, animation and videogames.

We represent professional writers and we also have a special (discounted) membership tier for emerging/aspiring writers. We lobby and campaign on behalf of writers, to ensure their voices are heard in a rapidly changing digital landscape.

Cost of membership
  •  Full membership: £198 for the first year, then earning-based subscription bands for subsequent years
  • Candidate membership: £108 per annum
  • Student membership: £30 per annum
  •  Affiliate membership (eg for writers' agents or for Higher Education professionals in creative writing departments £300 per annum
  • Subs can be paid by a one-off payment or in installments by Direct Debit, apart from student membership, which is payable in a one-off payment only
