Heart Unions: Yorkshire & the Humber Action

Issue date

Unions are the voice of Britain at work.  More than six million people have joined a union – from nurses to checkout assistants to lorry drivers to airline pilots.  Unions help workers get together, stop people being treated unfairly and get a better deal from their employers.

Join the campaign, with events across the region celebrating unions and their workplace reps, who help working people every day.  Regional events, with stalls, leafleting and meetings are being held as follows:

  • Regional hospitals across Yorkshire & the Humber, including Bradford Royal Infirmary, Pinderfields and St James Hospital, Leeds
  • Stalls will be set up in most of the region’s Councils.
  • Tesco stalls in Scunthorpe; Hull, Sheffield, , York, Bradford, Halifax and Leeds at Roundhay, Batley and Seacroft
  • Leafleting during rush hours at railways stations in Leeds, Bradford, Hull, Sheffield, Wakefield and York.
  • Leafleting around Leeds city centre and a stall and rally outside Leeds City Art Gallery on 11 February  12.30 – 1pm
  • A rally outside Barnsley Town Hall on 11 February from 12 – 1pm
  • Leafleting in York City centre
