On Screen Solidarity - Using (free) technology to support Union education and solidarity work

The link video conference link enabled union members to talk about how the global economic crisis has affected the, and how CWU members can further support MKP members in their struggles against police harassment, detention by the authorities, kidnap and extra judicial killings.

Your union can access this service, which is free, through the Open University On-Line Service. Only one person needs to register to create the meeting and guests log in to join the conversation - it's that easy!

The technology used is:

a microphone and headphones/speakers

a webcam - if you want to use a video

and a broadband connection.

The service is a FLASH application and is hosted remotely by the OU and accessed via web browser. The additional software is Adobe Flash player version 8 or above. This is available free too.
