TUC condemns threats made against senior Argentinian trade unionist Roberto Baradel
The TUC has condemned death threats to Roberto Baradel, the DGS of education union CTERA and the International Secretary of ITUC affiliate CTA.
Key findings
Roberto has faced similar threats before, with no action taken by the authorities. He had recently been leading criticisms of the Argentinian government over legislation that would end the teaching union’s right to collectively bargain.
The TUC has written to the Argentinian ambassador to the UK, expressing our concern and demanding immediate action to protect Roberto and his family.
