This report is the TUC response to the DTI consultation on employment status. The submission calls on the Government to modernise employment law to ensure that all workers benefit from basic employment rights. Up to a third of the UK workforce may lose out on basic employment protection because of their 'employment status'. This includes agency workers, casuals and freelancers.
