Overview

Are you interested in the issues facing disabled and LGBT workers? If so, then why not come along to hear about what's being done to tackle these issues and how you can get involved!

The TUC Northern Disability Forum and the TUC Northern LGBT Network are holding a joint meeting to discuss current campaign priorities and agree a plan for the year ahead.

The groups will be joined by Quinn Roache, the TUC's LGBT+, equality and disability expert. Quinn will be talking about the TUC's national priorities with regards to disabled and LGBT workers, including:

  • Reasonable Adjustment Passports
  • an update from the Disabled Workers Conference
  • the Ashers bakery case and what it means for LGBT+ rights
  • Brunei's barbaric anti-LGBT laws and the fight for genuine LGBT+ equality everywhere
  • LGBT+ workers and sexual harassment in the workplace

The meeting will be chaired by Dave Allan, Chair of the TUC Northern Disability Forum.

Light refreshments will be provided at 12:00 prior to the meeting commencing at 12:30.

To register a place please email hhammock@tuc.org.uk or call 0191 2275550.

Please note that the closing date for registrations is Friday 24 May 2019 and you must register a place to attend.
